Resumo

Algorithms now help decide who receives welfare benefits, how disputes are resolved, which speech stays online and how personal data is used. The law has had to answer in a decade, not a century. This volume brings together twenty-two chapters from the CLRS International Conference on Law in the Digital Decade, held in September 2026. They ask how automated decisions by the State can be held to constitutional standards; how artificial intelligence should be regulated for fairness, accountability and liability; what AI means for courts and online dispute resolution; and how privacy, data protection and free speech are being reshaped online, with close attention to the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Rules. The chapters combine doctrinal analysis with comparative material from the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. The book is written for students, researchers, practitioners and policymakers working on law and technology in India.
